Reflection Rooms are aimed to function as neutral safe spaces, open for meditation or reflection, self-expression, and rest. They are shaped to evoke a sense of curiosity and comfort, with organic but contrasting appearances between the interior and exterior. Location plays an important role; each form is inspired by the landscape in which it is placed. In addition, they are built in situ with the help of locals and —whenever possible— using locally sourced or locally gathered materials. Each Reflection Room is mainly constructed from recycled materials and is temporary in nature, allowing the materials to be repurposed after its deconstruction. The temporality of their existence radicalises their intervention in the landscape, prompting passersby to interact.
